Good to Know
Perilla leaves decrease in volume dramatically when cooked. 60g (about 40 leaves) of perilla leaves yield about 1-2 servings.
Optional Ingredients and Substitutions
Gochugaru (Korean red chili flakes): can be omitted.
Sesame seeds: Sesame seeds are a very nice addition to this dish but they can be omitted.

1. Prepare Perilla LeavesWash 60 g of perilla leaves twice thoroughly under running water. Put it in a strainer to drain water. You can cut the leaves in half if you like. |

3. Sauté perilla leavesPreheat a pan with 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil on medium heat for 1 min. Add perilla leaves and sauté for 1 min. |
